𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄: The name of the man killed in this morning’s shooting off I-985 in Gainesville is Jeremiah James Bonds, 23, of Flowery Branch. His next of kin have been notified of Mr. Bonds’ death.

Deon Altron Ellison, a murder suspect from Gainesville, has been apprehended following a shooting in Hall County, according to FOX3 News sources in the Sheriff’s department.

As per the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, a fatal shooting occurred early Friday morning, involving a passenger in the victim’s vehicle.

The passenger has been identified as 24-year-old Deon Altron Ellison from Gainesville.

The incident came to the attention of the sheriff’s office shortly after 1:30 a.m. on August 3.

It was revealed that Ellison and another individual, described as a witness, were present in the victim’s vehicle on Interstate 985NB near Jesse Jewell Parkway. An argument erupted between Ellison and the victim, resulting in the tragic shooting.

During the intensifying argument, Ellison allegedly brandished a firearm and shot the victim in the head, causing the vehicle to veer into a ditch.

Subsequently, Ellison fled in the direction of the Rabbittown community, as stated by the sheriff’s office.

Despite a night-long search by authorities, they were unable to apprehend him. Currently, he is being sought on charges of felony murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery.
