Two Students shot near George Wythe High School in Richmond

A shooting outside George Wythe High School has resulted in one juvenile being critically injured and another sustaining injuries.

The school is presently on lockdown as a precautionary measure.

According to authorities, a juvenile was found outside the school in a wooded area, suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound, prompting Richmond officers to respond to the incident around noon on Thursday.

A male juvenile has been confirmed as the second victim of the shooting incident by the Richmond Police.

The department is presently investigating the incident at the site.

Following the shooting, Richmond Public Schools issued a statement.
