A shooting incident that occurred at around 3 p.m. on Wednesday near 18th and Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, Kan., resulted in serious but non-life-threatening injuries to three police officers.
According to Kansas City, Kan., Police Chief Karl Oakman, the officers were fired upon by individuals in a vehicle and returned fire.
The exchange of gunfire also resulted in injuries to “three or four” suspects, who are expected to survive.
The investigation will be conducted by the Kansas City, Mo., Police Department, while an update on the matter is anticipated to be provided by the University of Kansas Health System shortly after 5 p.m.
