The Spokane Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit is currently investigating a shooting in west Spokane and a vehicle fire near SFCC (Spokane Falls Community College).
Law enforcement officers suspect that these incidents might be connected.
According to SPD and the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, investigators are present at the scene of a shooting on west Mission Road, where at least one person sustained injuries, and the suspects fled.
Simultaneously, officers are also at the scene of a vehicle fire on west Elliott Drive near Spokane Falls Community College, where a white SUV was completely destroyed.
Law enforcement believes that the two scenes are connected, and they are currently conducting a search along the Spokane River for the man and woman believed to be linked to both incidents.
Due to this ongoing search, SFCC (Spokane Falls Community College) is on lockdown.
It is advised to avoid the area if possible for safety reasons.
