Subsequently, he spent 12 years as the co-anchor of WISN “12 News This Morning” before transitioning back to the night shift in 2015, this time behind the anchor desk. Throughout his career, Patrick has traversed the country, delivering live coverage of significant events such as the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster, Pope Francis’ visit to Congress, and Wisconsin U.S. Representative Paul Ryan’s election as House Speaker. He traveled to Cleveland in 2016 to report on the Republican National Convention and provided updates from Phoenix during the Milwaukee Bucks’ triumphant NBA championship run in 2021.
In 2019, Patrick played a pivotal role in the creation of the Emmy-nominated documentary titled “Honor Flight 50: A Mission of Thanks.” Together with three colleagues from WISN 12, he embarked on the 50th Stars and Stripes Honor Flight journey to Washington D.C. This trip documented the awe-inspiring experience of veterans from World War II, Korea, and Vietnam as they visited the memorials erected in their honor. Patrick took charge of writing and hosting the one-hour television special that emerged from this project. In tandem with the documentary, WISN 12 organized a fundraising phone bank aimed at sponsoring more veterans for the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight. The viewers of WISN 12 demonstrated incredible generosity, raising nearly $60,000 to sponsor an entire plane and enable nearly 90 veterans to embark on a future honor flight expedition.
Before joining WISN 12, Patrick held various roles at WOLO-TV, the ABC affiliate in Columbia, S.C. There, he served as a news anchor, reporter, and photojournalist. His exceptional reporting has garnered recognition from prestigious organizations such as The Associated Press and the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association (WBA). Patrick has also been involved in award-winning coverage, which earned him regional Edward R. Murrow and Chicago/Midwest Emmy accolades.
