The family of the 22-year-old Christian LaCour has identified him as the mall security guard who was fatally shot by a gunman at the outlet mall in Allen, Texas.
Sandra Montgomery wrote on Facebook, “My beautiful grandson, Christian LaCour, was the security guard killed in the shooting at Allen Texas. He was such a beautiful soul, 22 years old with goals for his future I was so proud of him and so glad I got to see him 2 weeks ago. Please pray for my family especially Tracye,Chris, Brianna, Rian, and Matt They are very close and I know this is almost unbearable.”
With the media preparing to disclose the identities of the victims, Christian LaCour’s mother has authorized the release of her son’s name. LaCour, who was a resident of Farmersville and a graduate, worked as a security guard and was tragically killed in the mass shooting that occurred in Allen yesterday.
According to two senior law enforcement officials who spoke to FOX3, the individual responsible for the fatal shooting that resulted in the deaths of at least eight individuals and injuries to six others at a shopping mall in the Dallas area on Saturday has been identified as 33-year-old Mauricio Garcia.
Police reported that the gunman was neutralized by an officer who was present at the Allen Premium Outlets, situated about 25 miles north of Dallas.
According to a senior law enforcement official, Garcia was equipped with a tactical vest and had both a rifle and a handgun.
Additionally, more weapons and ammunition were discovered in his vehicle.
This incident marks the second deadliest mass shooting in the United States this year, and the second to occur in Texas within a span of just over a week.
The residence listed for Garcia in Dallas has been searched by law enforcement officers and federal agents.
A neighbor reported seeing authorities in the neighborhood shortly after the shooting on Saturday, but stated that they have never had any problems with the occupants of the house.
As of now, there is no additional information about the suspect from official sources.
