One dead and three injured in shooting outside Trader Joe’s in southern California

Update: The LAPD arrested the suspect who had abandoned their vehicle and fled to another one after shooting and injuring 3-4 people, resulting in one fatality, at the parking lot of a Trader Joe’s grocery store.

An investigation is underway into a shooting that took place in West Hills on Saturday afternoon.

One individual was killed and three others were hospitalized as a result of the incident.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear, but according to the Los Angeles Police Department, an unknown assailant opened fire on the three victims in the parking lot of a Trader Joe’s located on Vanowen Street shortly before 3:45 p.m.

All of the victims are adults, and one was pronounced dead at the scene, while the others were taken to the hospital. Police indicated that at least one of the victims is in critical condition and another is in serious condition.

The suspect reportedly fled before law enforcement arrived, and there is currently no available description of the suspect.
