No active threat found at Liberty High School in Bedford

On Wednesday afternoon, a reported threat caused students at Liberty High School in Bedford to be placed under active lockdown.

A letter sent to parents, which was obtained by FOX3, indicated that the lockdown began at 2 p.m.

According to a letter addressed to parents that FOX3 obtained, students at Liberty High School in Bedford were placed on active lockdown on Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. following a reported threat.

The letter further stated that law enforcement officials have secured all buildings to ensure the safety of staff and students.

Currently, the school assured parents that there is no active threat, and student dismissal will proceed as normal.

The district also promised to provide more information to parents as it becomes available.

Several law enforcement agencies, including the Bedford Police Department, Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, and Virginia State Police, responded to the incident.
