Photographs that had not been previously released have surfaced, showcasing Connor Sturgeon’s peaceful family life prior to the tragic incident in Louisville on Monday, where he killed four individuals and injured several others.
According to records obtained by FOX3 Now, Sturgeon, who was an employee at Old National Bank, was identified as the suspect by the Louisville Metro Police.
Online photos reveal Sturgeon’s ordinary life with family and friends, raising doubts about his motives for the shooting.
A friend and former teammate of Sturgeon’s from high school described him as intelligent, well-liked, and a standout athlete in football, track, and basketball.
According to Louisville Police Chief Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel, Sturgeon was live streaming when he began firing shots from a rifle at around 8:38 am in the Old National Bank Building.
The incident resulted in four fatalities and nine injuries, including three police officers.
According to Gwinn-Villaroel, Sturgeon was killed in a confrontation with the police, but it is uncertain whether he was shot by law enforcement or if he took his own life.
The tragedy claimed the lives of four Old National Bank employees, including senior vice president Tommy Elliott (63), market executive Jim Tutt (64), senior vice president of commercial real estate Josh Barrick (40), and commercial banking agent Juliana Farmer (57).
In a statement, Meta (formerly known as Facebook) confirmed that it has entirely deleted the livestream of the shooting from its platform.
The company stated that it swiftly removed the livestream of the tragic event earlier today.
After the shooting, law enforcement officials cordoned off Sturgeon’s street to investigate his residence and interview his neighbors for possible leads.
According to the Associated Press, a neighbor named Kami Cooper, who did not know Sturgeon personally, expressed shock, stating, “I’m almost speechless.
You see it on the news but not at home.” Officers were seen in recent photographs leaving Sturgeon’s home with bags of potential evidence.
