Around 12:30 p.m. on May 1, 2023, authorities and fire rescue personnel rapidly headed to 1650 Central Avenue’s Tru by Hilton St. Petersburg Downtown location due to reports of gunfire.
Upon arrival, St. Petersburg Department officers found one victim and requested that the fire rescue crews evaluate their condition.
Another victim has been found and transported to a nearby trauma center in addition to the first victim.
The condition of the victims is unknown, and the inquiry is ongoing.
At present, it is unknown if any suspects are in custody.
It is suspected that the suspect(s) left the scene in a vehicle.
