Peel Regional Police are scheduled to hold a news conference regarding a theft at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
This follows reports in the media on Thursday regarding a potential large-scale gold robbery at the airport earlier in the week.
A spokesperson for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police stated that they could only affirm that the investigation is being conducted by the Peel Regional Police to FOX3.
The spokesperson mentioned that they are not verifying the occurrence of the robbery; rather, they are validating whether the robbery truly occurred, and this is being investigated by the Peel Police.
Peel Police has refused to comment on the situation or confirm whether a robbery actually took place.
The Greater Toronto Airport Authority informed FOX3 that due to the ongoing investigation by the Peel Regional Police, they are unable to provide any information about the case at this moment.
