Minyone Patterson, the mother of Deion Patterson, the alleged gunman who reportedly killed one person and injured four others in an Atlanta hospital, stated that her son opened fire after receiving “messed up medication.”
Minyone, who is cooperating with the police in their search for her son, suggested that the medication regimen may have been a factor in the shooting at Northside Hospital Medical Midtown on Wednesday.
“The damn VA gave him some messed up medication, and all he wanted was an Ativan,” Minyone told The Daily Beast, alluding to the medication commonly used to treat seizure disorders.
She did not provide any further explanation and ended the conversation.
