Bernalillo County Fire and Rescue spokesperson reported that a two-alarm fire has erupted at a recycling facility.
The fire is currently being battled by both Bernalillo County and Albuquerque fire departments.
The incident is located in the 5300 Block of Hawking Drive. The fire appears to have started on the outside of a building at the facility, involving burning plastic.
As a precautionary measure, evacuations are underway at the site.
According to BCFD, there is a possibility of hazardous materials present at the site.
Additionally, they anticipate that the fire will worsen and continue burning for an extended period.
