Lisa Rinna Left ‘RHOBH’ After Getting Death Threats

Lisa Rinna is focusing on her acting career after leaving the “volatile” Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

In a new interview, Rinna said she exited the Bravo series in large part because the fanbase had become toxic.

“I mean, we were getting death threats — some of the most horrible things I’ve ever seen in print in my life, and it’s a reality show! It’s a stupid show!” she said in a recent conversation with the Evening Standard’s ES Magazine.

Rinna said she couldn’t take it anymore.

“I thought: ‘It’s time to go.’ I’m not sure how much longer that can exist in the zeitgeist, to be honest with you,” she explained. “I didn’t want to live like that — I don’t think that’s healthy.”

Rinna, 59, spent eight seasons on the hit series, but said the fans changed in the last few years.

“The way the fanbase reacts to the show now is not how it was when I first started,” she explained.

The TV personality and entrepreneur said she struggled with the decision to leave until her late mother Lois, who died in 2021, came to her in a dream and encouraged her to quit the show.

“It’s so wild, because half the world will believe this, half the world will say, ‘That’s so weird.’ I was sleeping and I heard her say to me, ‘It’s time for you to go,’” Rinna recalled.

Now that she’s off RHOBH, the Days of Our Lives alum is lining up acting jobs.

“I have two acting gigs coming, which is really exciting,” she said, but declined to give details before the projects are officially announced.

Rinna announced her exit from RHOBH in January.

“This is the longest job I have held in my 35-year career and I am grateful to everyone at Bravo and all those involved in the series,” she said in a statement at the time. “It has been a fun eight-year run and I am excited for what is to come!”

Some media outlets reported Rinna and Bravo “mutually decided” to part ways after her contract expired. But many fans suggested on social media that she was fired following disputes with Kathy Hilton, Kim Richards, Lisa Vanderpump, and Garcelle Beauvais.

A month after Rinna’s exit, Beauvais sat down for an interview on Sherri and discussed her former co-star’s departure.

“I’m good,” Beauvais said, after being asked her thoughts in Rinna’s exit. “Yeah, I’m so good. Period. You know what, listen, she came on the show and made her mark but now it’s time for new.”
