Jamie Foxx Hospitalized Due to ‘Medical Complication,’ Family Says

Jamie Foxx has been admitted to a hospital after suffering some type of “medical complication.”

The Oscar-winning actor’s oldest daughter, Corinne Foxx, posted a statement on Instagram Wednesday evening from the Foxx family, saying Jamie is improving after he was taken to the hospital a day earlier.

“We wanted to share that, my father Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday (April 11). Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” the statement read.

“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers,” the statement continued. “The family asks for privacy during this time.”

Reps for Jamie Foxx did not immediately respond to Urban Hollywood 411‘s request for comment.

Sources close to the actor told TMZ, his condition was “serious.” One source noted, “He’s communicating now, and that’s good news.”

Foxx, 55, has most recently been shooting the upcoming Netflix movie, Back in Action.

The actor has been photographed in England filming scenes for the action comedy alongside Cameron Diaz. Netflix has not provided many details about the film, but the pictures show the two stars walking through the snow in an English countryside. Glenn Close also has a role in the film.

Foxx will next appear on screen in the Netflix comedy caper They Cloned Tyrone. The film centers on “a series of eerie events” connected to a “nefarious government conspiracy.” The movie also stars John Boyega and Teyonah Parris, and is scheduled to open the 27th American Black Film Festival this June in Miami.

Among the actor, singer and comedian’s other numerous film credits are Ray (2004), Collateral (2004), Dreamgirls (2006), The Soloist (2009), Django Unchained (2012), Baby Driver (2017), and Just Mercy (2019).
