Sanchez began her career as a journalist after graduating from Marquette University. She worked as an assistant producer and news anchor. Before joining WCBS-TV, Hazel worked as a weekend anchor and reporter for WBAY-TV Green Bay, WI. She hosted a variety of award-winning documentaries on the network.
