Fox Soul’s ‘Tea-G-I-F’ Expands to Five Nights Amid Programming Changes

Changes are on the horizon at Fox Soul, Urban Hollywood 411 has learned.

The live streaming platform is shifting its programming lineup and changing leadership.

Among the changes, Tea-G-I-F is expanding to five nights a week. Hosted by Claudia Jordan, Funky Dineva and Al Reynolds, the entertaining news show covers stories of the day in an irreverent tone.

The channel, which is dedicated to Black culture, is also developing a block of spiritual and religious programming on Sundays. Details on the new shows will be announced in the coming weeks.

In addition, the network has announced a new general manager.

D’Artagnan Bebel has been named general manager and head of programming for the streaming network. Bebel will continue in his role as SVP/GM of FOX 26 KRIV-TV and My20 KTXH-TV in Houston.

“I am excited about the opportunity to help grow Fox Soul into a brand that is reflective of the diversity within; and that the African-American community can be proud of,” Bebel said.

“The Black community is far from being homogeneous, and Fox Soul will hope to serve as a vehicle for the greater good by recognizing those who may go unrecognized,” Bebel continued. “We will constantly be refining and developing this network to make it something the community loves.”

He replaces current General Manager James DuBose, who is pursuing other opportunities.

In departing, Dubose said: “It has been one of the greatest highlights of my professional and personal life to have been able to lead such a talented group of people at Fox Soul. I have nothing but sincere gratitude towards the entire team, especially Jack Abernethy and Stephen Brown. This experience has prepared me for my next chapter, which I am extremely excited about. I am forever grateful to the Fox family.”

The changes come as networks across the industry deal with a changing landscape and tighten their belts. As a result, Fox Soul is canceling several programs including Cocktails With Queens, which will air its final new episode on June 12.

The platform’s nightly news program, The Black Report, has also been canceled and the staff has been let go.
