In response to reports of a shooting occurring shortly before midnight on Tuesday, July 4, law enforcement in Shreveport promptly arrived at the scene on Pearl Avenue.

Tragically, three individuals have lost their lives, and at least six others have sustained injuries.

This call came into dispatch around 11:41 p.m. from the corner of Jones Mabry Road and Pearl Avenue, which is located in the Cooper Road neighborhood. When first responders arrived on the scene, they located multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds to the body.

The large number of vehicles present at the scene posed a challenge for the police in reaching the victims, as mentioned by officials.

Lt. Van Wray from the SPD stated that reaching the location and arranging for EMS services proved to be a challenging task.

Due to the substantial number of vehicles parked along the street, many officers had to abandon their cars and quickly proceed on foot.
