Four children among those injured in mass shooting during block party at Brooklyn Homes in South Baltimore

According to Baltimore Police, four children were among the victims of the mass shooting at the Brooklyn Homes housing project earlier this morning.

Currently, three individuals remain in critical condition at local hospitals.

Additionally, more than 20 individuals with gunshot wounds transported themselves to hospitals.

During a block party in Baltimore on Sunday morning, a tragic incident occurred where gunfire broke out, resulting in the death of two individuals and injuring 28 others.

Among the wounded, three are in critical condition, according to the Baltimore Police Department. Acting Commissioner Richard Worley provided this information during a press conference held at the scene, stating that there were a total of 30 victims.

According to Acting Commissioner Worley, the shooting occurred shortly after 12:30 a.m. during a block party in the southern area of the city, specifically in the Brooklyn Homes neighborhood.

All the victims involved in the incident were adults.

Out of the total victims, nine were transported to hospitals by ambulance, while 20 others walked into nearby medical facilities seeking treatment for gunshot injuries.

Tragically, a life was lost at the scene as an 18-year-old woman was found deceased.

Additionally, a 20-year-old man was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to a hospital.

“I want to deliver a clear message to those responsible,” expressed Mayor Brandon Scott at the scene. “We will not rest until we apprehend you, and rest assured, we will find you.

In the meantime, I hope that every breath you take serves as a reminder of the lives you have taken and the profound impact you have made tonight.”

Following the shooting, no arrests were made immediately. Mayor Scott urged anyone with information to come forward and aid investigators in identifying the “cowards” accountable for the incident.

Officials stated that the crime scene was extensive, and detectives will require sufficient time to investigate it thoroughly. Mayor Scott emphasized the importance of treating this situation as if it directly impacted one’s own family.

He urged the community to empathize and reflect on how they would want others to respond in times of mourning, emphasizing the need for solidarity and support within the city of Baltimore.
