Exclusive Video: Shooting inside Union Station in New Haven left one person injured

On Wednesday night, a shooting took place within the crowded premises of New Haven’s train station. Authorities are currently seeking two individuals believed to be involved in the incident, which unfolded at Union Station at approximately 9 p.m.

As reported by Rick Fontana, New Haven’s Director of Emergency Management, a victim was shot and subsequently transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for medical attention.

The shooting incident took place on a train platform, and it was there that the victim was discovered with severe, life-threatening injuries.

According to law enforcement, the altercation originated on a Metro-North train departing from New York City.

Upon arriving at the New Haven station, gunshots were fired.

It is suspected that two individuals involved in the incident boarded a bus headed towards New Haven Green. Descriptions of the suspects have been obtained by the authorities.

On Wednesday night, New Haven Police, Connecticut State Police, MTA Police, and Amtrak Police swiftly responded to the incident.

As a precautionary measure, passengers were evacuated from the station starting at approximately 8:30 PM and were able to return shortly before 10:30 PM.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing and is expected to continue into Thursday morning.
