Craig Melvin Biography and Wiki
Craig Melvin is an American broadcast journalist currently working for NBC News and MSNBC as an anchor and news correspondent. He anchors the Today show on NBC and a co-host of Today Third Hour.
Craig began his career at NBC-affiliate WIS-TV in Columbia, South Carolina as a high school student, working as an “Our Generation Reporter” from 1995 to 1997. After he graduated from college, he went back to WIS in July 2001 as a producer and news photographer. He later became a reporter for the station’s morning news team, producing his “Craig Cam” live segments.
Craig left WIS-TV in July 2008 and joined WRC-TV. He anchored the weekend evening newscasts. In 2012, he anchored MSNBC’s coverage of the national conventions for the Republican and Democratic parties, as well as TV One’s Election Night coverage. He also covered the Sandy Hook shootings in December 2012.
Melvin reported from Pyeongchang County for NBC’s coverage of the Winter Olympics in February 2018. In September 2018, he was also promoted to weekday news anchor on Today and became a permanent co-host of Today Third Hour Today in January 2019.
