Brielle Silver missing, and an Amber alert issued

The Newport News Police Department has requested the public’s help in locating Brielle Silver, a nine-year-old girl who was abducted from a business in Virginia on Saturday morning.

An Amber Alert has been issued by the Virginia State Police and the Virginia Missing Children Clearinghouse, as the child is believed to be in extreme danger.

According to police reports, Brielle was last seen leaving a business at 12877 Jefferson Ave in Newport News around 10 a.m. on Saturday.

She is described as a light-skinned female with curly brown hair with highlights. She stands approximately 4 feet 7 inches tall and weighs around 100 pounds.

She was last seen wearing a black tank top with white shorts and no shoes.

Brielle’s father has reported that she was picked up from the business by her non-custodial mother, who may be driving a silver/gray Mercury Mariner with Tennessee plate 978BJSC.

The vehicle is believed to have possible front-end bumper damage on the driver’s side. Brielle’s mother has been identified as Bethany Renae Dawn Gould, a white female with brown hair, and hazel eyes, standing at 5 foot 4 inches tall and weighing 140 lbs.

The Newport News Police Department is urging anyone with information about Brielle’s whereabouts to contact them immediately.

The child is believed to be in extreme danger and may be in the company of her non-custodial mother.

Anyone who sees Brielle, her mother, or the vehicle described in the Amber Alert should not approach them but should call 911 or Newport News Police Communications at (757) 247-2500.
