The second season of BMF ends with a long-awaited confrontation, a strip club shootout, and a heartbreaking scene between a father and son.
After two seasons of dirty dealings on the Starz crime drama, karma and the streets finally catch up with Detective Bryant (Steve Harris).
In an interview with Urban Hollywood 411, Harris said viewers are in for an emotional ride when they watch the season finale titled “New Beginnings.”
“They’re going to see, at least from my character, they’re going to see a roller coaster of emotions,” Harris said. “They’re going to see a confrontation with the Flenorys. They’re going to remember that [Bryant] is a father first.”

Bryant has been trying to dismantle the Black Mafia Family since his partner, Detective Lopez (Sean Michael Gloria), was killed last season by Kato (Ajiona Alexus).
In this latest episode, Meech (Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr.) and Terry (Da’Vinchi) finally handle Bryant, B-Mickie, and Lamar.
Bryant was assigned a new partner this season, no-nonsense Detective Jin (Kelly Hu), but that created a new set of complications.
“When you have a partner that’s like Jin, who is kind of inquisitive, kind of nosy, and wants to get in there. It makes it a little bit harder,” Harris said.
Adding to Bryant’s problems, his teenage son Kevin (Jerel Xavier Alston) makes a terrible decision in the finale and ends up throwing his young life away. Harris said filming the scene where he finds out Kevin is in trouble took an emotional toll.
“It was hard. It’s a difficult scene to shoot because the young man playing Kevin is such a good kid,” Harris explained. “It was just a painful scene, because of what had to happen. So for me, it was a flux of emotions, because you would never want to be in that situation. Never!”

Meech hears about Bryant’s misfortune and uses it for leverage, leading to a long-awaited confrontation between the crooked cop and the drug kingpin.
“It’s a great moment. And then it leads to where I also think that they may have me over a barrel, but I still got a little something,” Harris said. “And it turns out that I don’t have that either… That’s where the unraveling sort of begins.”
The cast and crew are already filming season 3, and Harris said the storyline is powerful.
“I think people will like where the show is going the next season,” he teased.
BMF season 2, episode 10 airs Friday, March 17 at 8:00 pm ET/PT on Starz.
