A shooting incident occurred at the Dulles Town Center Mall Food Court this morning resulting in the arrest and charging of a Leesburg man, Alan W. Colie, with several charges including aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
The shooting incident is believed to have been a result of an altercation between Colie and the victim at the food court, and was reported to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) at around 11:57 AM.
LCSO responded promptly, arriving at the scene within three minutes of the call, and took the suspect into custody at around 12:02 PM.
The victim, an adult male, was found outside the mall with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was treated by deputies and members of the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System before being taken to a local hospital for further treatment.
It is not believed that Colie and the victim knew each other.
The entire mall was checked by LCSO deputies to ensure there were no other suspects or victims present, and Dulles Town Center management decided to close the mall for the rest of the day.
Detective K. Mitchell can be contacted at 703-777-1021 for additional information about the incident.
