According to the Cook County sheriff, a shooting in south suburban Ford Heights on Friday resulted in one person killed and four others injured.
Deputies were dispatched to the 1400-block of Senator Lane around 7:15 p.m. in response to reports of a shooting at a gathering.
Upon arrival, they discovered five individuals who had been shot.
A woman was transported to Franciscan Health Hospital in Dyer, Ind., where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Woman later identified as Adaija Wilson.
Additionally, three other women and one man were taken to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
As of now, there is no available information about the individuals’ ages or their current conditions.
The Cook County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
