According to Winston-Salem police, a shooting incident resulted in one fatality.
The officers were called to the 100 block of S. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive on Wednesday night in response to a report of a discharged firearm.
While conducting their investigation, they discovered that one victim had been transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound.
Ricky Davis, aged 29, tragically passed away due to his injuries, as stated by officials.
The Criminal Investigations Division also arrived at the scene and discovered that Davis was present at a vigil in the same vicinity when unknown suspects approached and shot him.
Currently, investigators have no information regarding the identities of these suspects, and the investigation is still in progress.
This incident marks the 32nd homicide this year, according to authorities.
