On Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at approximately 9:00 a.m., Alvin Police were notified of a shooting at a residence in the 300 block of Sycamore Street.
The caller reported her brother just shot her husband. Officers arrived to find the victim, Blakely Hudgens, 39, Alvin, inside the home, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
Officers determined the suspect, Vincent Webb, 26, Alvin, fled the scene on foot.
Approximately 15 minutes later, officers located Webb several blocks from the scene and took him into custody.
Webb was still armed with the suspected murder weapon.
Webb has been charged with Murder and is presently in jail.
Detectives are still investigating the incident and further details will be released, as appropriate, as they develop.
