25-year-old YNG Cheese, son of Philly rapper Gillie Da Kid, killed in triple shooting

A source verified with FOX3 News confirms that the son of Philadelphia rap artist and podcaster Gillie Da Kid was among the victims in a triple shooting on Thursday night.

The incident took place on the 5800 block of Mascher Street in Philadelphia at 8:24 p.m., as reported by the police.

In the shooting, a 25-year-old man was struck once in the back and was transported to the hospital by the police. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at 8:39 p.m.

Two other individuals, aged 28 and 31, were also shot during the incident and were taken to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, both victims were reported to be in stable condition.

According to information shared with FOX3 News, one of the victims sought refuge in a nearby home, and upon investigation, ten spent shell casings were found at the scene.

As of now, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not recovered any weapons involved in the shooting.

As of now, the police have not disclosed the identity of the deceased man.

However, a source closely connected to the family informed FOX3 News that the victim was YNG Cheese, a local rapper and the son of Philly rap artist and podcast host Gillie Da Kid.

Gillie Da Kid, whose birth name is Nasir Fard, is a prominent figure in Philadelphia’s underground hip hop scene and was formerly a member of the local hip hop group Major Figgas.

Presently, Fard co-hosts the popular weekly podcast “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” with social media influencer and fellow Philly native, Wallo267.
