Detectives from the Gastonia Police Department (GPD) continue to investigate the homicide of 20-year-old Tyceria Larell Alexander of Gastonia that occurred yesterday afternoon outside on 12th Avenue.
Investigators are asking any business owners and residents in the area of Union Road and 12th Avenue who have surveillance systems to check their video for any possible evidence that could help detectives identify a suspect(s) in this murder.
Just before 4:30 p.m. yesterday (March 21), the Gaston County Emergency Communications Center received a call for a shooting that just occurred outside in the 1200 block of Union Road.
Upon arrival, first responders located Alexander lying in the roadway on 12th Avenue near Union Road suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Family members say 20-year old Tyceria Alexander had left his home less than a half mile away when the shooting happened.
This remains an active investigation and there is no suspect information available at this time.
