UPDATE: The victim from the shooting that happened early Thursday morning in the 1100 block of Daylily Drive has been identified as Jamarion Chambers, 18 of Knoxville.

The Knoxville Police Department has initiated an investigation following the death of an 18-year-old male in Montgomery Village on the early morning of June 22.

Upon receiving a report of an unresponsive individual outside a building in the 1100 block of Daylily Drive in Vestal around 6:30 a.m., officers promptly responded to the scene.

Tragically, they discovered the lifeless body of an 18-year-old male who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Medical personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene, as stated in a press release by a department spokesperson.

According to the release, authorities are currently conducting interviews with multiple witnesses, but no arrests have been made at this time.
