According to Reno Police, a teenager has been taken into custody in relation to a fatal shooting that occurred near the University of Nevada campus on Tuesday morning.
The suspect, 17-year-old Stefan Howard Jr., has been charged with open murder.
Both victims were also minors under the age of 18.
One victim identified as 17-year-old Santiago Rodriguez.
The shooting took place around 12:30 a.m. in the vicinity of 15th and North Virginia Streets.
According to the police, the incident initially began as an argument at a different location and subsequently escalated at the Fifteen51 apartments.
They assure the public that there is no immediate danger as the incident does not seem to be a random act.
The investigation is still ongoing.
