14 people taken to the hospital after roof collapse at house near the campus of Ohio State in Columbus

On Saturday evening, the roof of a house near the Ohio State University campus in Columbus collapsed, resulting in at least 14 individuals being transported to the hospital.

The Columbus police officers received a report of the roof collapsing in the 60 block of East 13th Avenue at approximately 7:40 pm.

According to Columbus Division Fire Chief Jeffrey Geitter, the collapse of the front porch was caused by numerous students being on the roof.

The Fire Chief mentioned that there were around 15 to 45 individuals on the roof, which was not built to accommodate people. He further stated that the people heard a crack, and the roof gave way.

All 14 individuals who were injured in the incident were transported to the hospital and are said to be in a stable condition.
